Il cementificio è la fedele riproduzione del Lehigh Cement Plant a Monolith Ca vicino al famosissimo Tehachapi loop.
Sono stato fortunato ad entrare in contatto con modellisti locali che mi hanno fornito foto ed addirittura riprese da un drone.
Sono sempre disponibile per chiunque voglia venirmi a trovare a Bologna

Ma... quanti plastici hai ?
"per ora" io so di due ...
Non è che si potrebbe pubblicare anche solo UNA foto (anche sbiadita) di quello GRANDE? So che "forse" non si può , ma "sperare" è sempre lecito, no?
Dicevi che sono 8 moduli da 2? x 4? ... interessante, anche se oramai per me è troppo tardi. sto iniziando ad apprezzare le strutture a "pezzi" ... finiti!

L'ho comprata da un modellista australiano che la produce in resina io gli ho aggiunto la tenda e la parabola satellitare.

Hai ragionissima, ma mi sa che ne parliamo da gennaio 2020 in poi... mi ritiro e conto di dedicarmi finalmente ad un sacco di cose che ora non ho il tempo di fare!
Intanto... ho dato una lucidata alle mazze da golf che sono sotto il plastico (ancora da finire!)

e visto che nel mio "costruendo" plastico ho una location dedicata al Kaiser Cement Plant che stava a Cupertino..
Ho da qualche parte una foto di un 44 Toner a cui devo cambiare colore in BIANCO e metter decals per la Kaiser...
prima o poi la ritrovo... dopo fine anno!

In ogni caso riporto qui una parte del primo post... che menziona "in-plant switching" , se a qualcuno interessasse:

One aspect to consider when designing a cement plant for a layout is in-plant switching. Cement loading requires frequent movement of cars, something the host railroad delivering the cars generally would not do. I suppose they may contract out the work to the host RR, but I imagine that would get cost prohibitive. Most often it seems the facility owns one or more locomotives, track mobiles or winch pulleys used to move cars. So consideration of this in the design of the model should be done.

Additionally, in general, captive or industry owned locomotives do not receive the FRA required inspections to allow operation on the host RR’s track. And their crews are generally not FRA certified (my apologies if this is the wrong terminology). As a result, the cement plant must keep their in-plant switching operations off the host RR’s track. From my experience in the ethanol biz, there was a locked derail demarking the break between industry owned track and the host RR’s track.

From what I have seen, a lot of models entirely ignore this aspect of larger industrial modeling. Specifically, leaving enough room (tail track) to allow in-plant switching. If provided, could make another opportunity for an operator, although could be kinda boring just pushing or pulling cars through a loading bay. On the other hand, would make the industrial ops much more realistic if the in-plant switcher knew he was restricted to work within the limits of the industrial track. All that said, looking at the Davenport track arrangement, I am curious how they handled in-plant movement of cars. It appears the SP main is needed. Perhaps they had a provision in the track agreement that allowed use of the SP main since it was on the end of the branch. Or maybe not needed – just a car puller on the cement tracks and the others were switched by the SP when needed.
