Colore Ballast AT&SF

Fra non molto dovrò colorare i binari e posare il ballast sul mensolino AT&SF e non ho ancora individuato i prodotti da utilizzare per riprodurre realisticamente i toni del binario e della massicciata.
Non avendo la possibilità di verificare di persona il prototipo, per ricavare una qualche indicazione mi sono affidato ad alcune immagini reperibili sul web e, fra le tante, segnalo queste che riguardano i tratti di linea che attraversano Kingman e Flagstaff.

Il colore del binario tende al marrone/grigio ed il ballast è un misto di vari colori (sempre su base marrone).
Secondo voi quali prodotti posso usare per riprodurre nel modo più realistico possibile il binario dii quella linea?

ho chiesto ad un mio amico che e' un Santa Fe fan.
Marco, ecco la risposta del mio amico Dave:
"Mmm... mauve. In the old days (steam and early diesel), they didn't seem to use as much mauve ballast on the Santa Fe. But, by the time the new Warbonnets came back, mauve was definetly the standard Santa Fe color. On the Seligman sub, you can find both mauve and white ballast in use. I have a Santa Fe calendar on my wall that shows two Warbonnets on a stack train in 1995. One track of the double-track mainline is mauve with a few specks of white here and there. The other mainline is white with a few specks of mauve and some black here and there. So there is some room to play around a little bit with the color. The Arizona Rock Company ballast has a very nice mauve color and is available at Train Shop. I have a ballast train (only three cars so far) that uses their HO ballast that I spray-glued on top of a white plastic Walthers load. I also bought the large mauve blocks of rock by Arizona Rock Company, like the kind that would be used for fill around bridge abudtments or along rivers, and put it in a Difco side-dump car. It looks pretty good. "
